Bridal Portraits? yay or nay?! I say- YAY! It’s so interesting to me how some people say bridal portraits are a “Southern thing” or maybe you’ve never even heard of them at all?! Obviously, it’s not the end of the world if you skip over them… but for me, I’m so glad I did!! Fun fact: we took these pictures in an old car dealership in Lenoir!
Traditionally bridal portraits are printed & on display at the wedding reception, I didn’t worry about that, but I was so happy to get this session in before the big day! Luckily, I was even able to coordinate my wedding hair & makeup trial the same day and show off their work for my portraits! It would have been so sad to get my trial done then just wash it off or go sit at home, plus I wanted to surprise Dillon anyway!
In the midst of the stress of wedding planning and as the wedding got closer & closer… I really appreciated having a “dress rehearsal” day for me as the bride…. did my alterations work? do I like my makeup or hair ideas? was this bridal tape the right kind? how do I want my nails done? what’s the best way to pack up all these accessories & undergarments? I took my pictures approximately 1 month out from our wedding, so there was just enough time to fix or change anything before the big day!
After the pictures were all said and done I was SO EXCITED for our wedding day! It made everything seem REAL and it took a lot of stress off of me knowing I was cool with my look and excited to show Dillon. It was also such a relief to have a bunch of great shots without having to take away from the actual wedding day. The wedding day itself goes by SO FAST and I wanted the day to be about us as a couple enjoying time with our families.
Shoutout to my Mom for accompanying me to my photo shoot! We made a full day out of it! After pictures, we made a final visit to the venue, met with hotel staff to confirm plans, checked out a Welcome dinner venue, snuck in a sunset hike & grabbed dinner! Success! & so much fun!
