February Book of the Month- THE LAST HOUSE GUEST

Title: The Last House Guest
Author: Megan Miranda
Genre: Suspense Fiction, Contemporary Women, Murder, Investigation

Book Jacket Summary:
Littleport, Maine is like two separate towns: a vacation paradise for wealthy holidaymakers and a simple harbour community for the residents who serve them. Friendships between locals and visitors are unheard of – but that’s just what happened with Avery Greer and Sadie Loman. Each summer for a decade the girls are inseparable – until Sadie is found dead. When the police rule the death a suicide, Avery can’t help but feel there are those in the community, including a local detective and Sadie’s brother Parker, who blame her. Someone knows more than they’re saying, and Avery is intent on clearing her name before the facts get twisted against her.

Why I Chose This Book:
I liked the cover & I thought the title was The Lake House Guest lol whoops! You can also usually never go wrong with a Reese’s Book Club Nom… I was looking for something actually fiction for a change as well! I was also impressed by the author- Megan Miranda, an MIT grad and NC local. Plus, I’m usually only ever reading nonfiction, so I thought this could be a nice change of pace.

My Review:
I enjoy a good mystery! Happy to give this one a shot, Reese & Megan do not disappoint! It took me a little while to get started, but once the plot picked up I was hooked!
