The Virginia Creeper Trail

Last Friday we lucked out with the absolute perfect fall day! We traveled to Damascus, VA for the day to experience The Virginia Creeper Trail with our friends Brooke & David. [Brooke & I have been bffs since 1st grade]

It was about a 3.5 hr drive so we left early to arrive at Creeper Trail Bike Rentals for our 12 noon trail time. This company makes everything super easy, we rented our bikes (mountain or comfort) from them & they provide a shuttle to get you to the top of the trail (~30 min van ride). When you’re done with the trail bike ride their shop is awaiting at the end and you simply return your gear before you head home.

The trail is 17 miles long & has a nice break spot café ~3/4 of the ride in. It is mostly down hill and there are plenty of fun stops along the way to enjoy. It is so beautiful with the many rivers, streams, mountain landscapes, bridges & mini hikes! Going in October, we also got to enjoy the beautiful foliage during peak season!

We leisurely rode through & stopped for a snack.. it took us approximately 3-4 hours to complete… it was such a nice day and so relaxing, I didn’t even think about anything else out on the trail other than the ride & the beautiful scenery!

I was the rear of our group on my comfort bike 😉 It was such a great day outside with our friends & all things fall!

We came, we creeped, we conquered!

I had been once before with my family, already 5 years ago! for a Labor Day weekend trip, which was also really fun! I’m ready to go back to the VCT anytime! Five stars & fun for all ages, as long as you can ride a bike! 🙂

Happy Trails!
