ONE YEAR with LUCY!!

WOW! Where has the time gone?! Our precious Lucy has officially been with us for ONE WHOLE YEAR?!! When we were driving home with her this time last year I had no idea how much I would love her and enjoy her company. At this point it is safe to say we cannot imagine life without her, she makes every day happier & way more fun! Time with Lucy makes life so much more refreshing and simple- we play inside & outside, cuddle, exercise, enjoy treats, learn tricks & hang out with our friends -just the good stuff! 🙂

GROWTH

The day we brought Lucy home she was a whopping 10 lbs and 12 weeks old, now fast forward a few short months & she is now leveling out at around 25 lbs full grown. We’ve gotten her grooming schedule figured out and she goes from a fuzzy bear to a proper girly periodically throughout the months 😉

LIKES/DISLIKES

Baby puppy Lucy started out so timid, she would get the shakes & hide around new stuff! Now she is a total go getter who is willing to try any kind of game or toy, she loves to play with other dogs & meet new people! She can be a little feisty when it comes to wanting a snack or for someone to take her outside… she loves learning new tricks & spending as much time as possible with Dillon & I. SHE LOVES: playing in the water, socks, balls, being chased, visiting with her family and friends, snuggling, tugging games, belly rubs, long walks, puzzles, snacks… the list could go on & on! The only things I know Lucy doesn’t like is: being sneak attacked by mean dogs, aggressive barking and wearing anything on her head, as long as we can avoid those things we are in for a perfect day!

EATING

Lucy LOVES to eat!! Her regular dog food is Purina Pro Plan Puppy- chicken flavor, now 1 cup x2/day. Any treat from Oliver’s Collar Dog Bakery is a WIN! She is always ready for a snack: POPCORN, strawberries, banana, cucumber, lettuce, carrots, chicken, eggs, peanut butter, apple, cheese, watermelon, yogurt, blue berries, ice cubes… she thinks she can eat our junk food choices, but we’ve made sure to keep her away from the fried foods, etc. I need to always be on the Lucy diet & we will both be good!

SLEEPING

Lucy is such a great sleeper!! She legit “tucks herself in” aka- goes to the bedroom around 11pm on her own, naps on the couch throughout the day, snuggles in bed with us, sleeps in her dog bed or crate… Lucy manages her sleep on her own & does a great job! She used to wake up bright and early at 6:30 every day, but now it’s typically 8:30am -such a teenager! 😉
