As summer comes to a close, we have made the most of it! Lots of time with friends, water activities
& celebrating LUCY’S 1st BIRTHDAY!!!
Lucy is officially 1 year old! She has spent the last 10 months at home with us & I just can’t believe how fast the time as flown! Lucy makes life so fun & fulfilling, every day is so much better with our little cuddle buddy & play mate! 🙂
Lucy LOVES the DOG PARK!!! She tries to be friends with every dog she meets, but she does get overwhelmed with loud barkers & dogs that don’t give her space. Her favorite games are fetch & being chased! This is Lucy’s latest new friend Honey! another goldendoodle who is ironically from the same breeder! Maybe they’re cousins?
Lucy LOVES to eat! She is tiny, but she wants to try everything & out of all the safe options- we have not found one thing she doesn’t like?! Fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses…. we basically have the same favorite foods 😉 & of course she is always wanting the bad stuff too- take out, chocolate, chips… you’ve got to watch her! She is a maniac around food!! Her favorite place in the world is OLIVER’S COLLAR in Durham! They bake the most delicious dog treats of all time! Here is Lucy crushing her birthday cake this past month at her party…. it was so fun to see all the dogs loving it!
This is Lucy completely exhausted after her party 🙂 She is a teenager now & is LOVING her sleep! She used to always want to get up at 7:00 am sharp! but now she’s more of a 9 am wake up call?! I wish I was Lucy every time she rolls over & snuggles deep while I’m getting ready for work in the early hours 😉
This past month we had so much fun! Our top priority was maximizing our play time with our best friends Christina & Ollie! All the walks, dog park hangs, outdoor adventures and our biggest adventure yet, the end of the Summer extravaganza– THE POOCH PLUNGE hosted by Durham Parks and Rec services. .
Closing weekend in Durham, NC they open up the area pools FOR THE DOGS!! & it was AMAZING!!! We were a little nervous how things would go, there were ~100 dogs running & splashing all around, but everyone had a blast (people + pups!) It was a little chaotic with so many moving pieces & high energy, but everyone got a long very well and this was Ollie’s 1st time ever swimming, he did great!!
Lucy LOVES water!! This Summer she has conquered the lake, ocean, mountain rivers & now swimming pool + splash pad!! She swims really well, but I feel much better knowing she’s in her life jacket if I happen to look away… it also made finding her in the swimming pool crowd very easy, which was super helpful on such a busy pool day!
It was so fun to see her running & jumping into the pool full speed! She was cruising through the water, swimming lap after lap! & of course, she was trying to eat/swallow every single splash!! chomp, chomp!
Sign ups were for 2 hour blocks and surprisingly we ended up staying until the final whistle! It was so fun 🙂 We went home with one EXHAUSTED puppy, she swam her heart out & totally crashed! Me & all my crazy ideas 😉 I’m so happy Christina made sure we registered and made it happen!
We love you Summer!!
